Welcome

Willoughby Newton ,
Wykeham's first headmaster after reopening in 1963

In 1963 Willoughby Newton, formerly a master at Kent School, and E. Otis Charles, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church reopened Wykeham Rise.  The school developed an unusually strong program in the visual and performing arts to expand upon the college preparatory curriculum, thus maintaining a sense of continuity and a tie to its impressive past.
